Yes, plenty early enough. I always leave for the airport 2 hrs. 15 minutes before my scheduled departure & have always had time to spare in the nimbus lounge at the airport.

An even less expensive manner of booking InterBus appears to be through the website:

http://www.searchcostarica.com

Email response is swift; payment can be through PayPal and the owner of the website was the CIO for InterBus up until a little bit ago. He maintains positive relations with Interbus and the charge via that site is $6.00 per trip.

I have booked through this website for the impending Sept. 3 trip and shall report back just how effective the service. I believe I read in another thread that someone already tried the site and was picked up and taken back right on time.

Checked bank for charges on 9-12 to 9-14 trip and had 3 extra $7 charges. Called and they said that a credit had been put in, and would take approx 1 week to showup.

Bad reading and I am sorry for your tripilicate charges. I wonder was the charging done by the web site or the InterBus people.

I depart on Sept. 3 and expect pick up on Sept. 3. I depart from SJO, again, on Sept. 10 and expect pick up and agreed upon time.

I hoping and trusting that the owner of the service has been square business with me.

I shall be reporting from Hotel Castillo either on the 3rd or the 4th.....stay tuned......

I didn't use that site above but booked directly and Interbus stood me up for the first time last week, I was heading to get a taxi instead and saw the van pass by to pick up a group and gave the driver my conf. # and he finally just told me to hop in so it worked out. Guess they found my info since I see the 7.00 charge on my cc.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I booked directely with the Interbus web site. They Apologized for the error and admitted that they had mischarged me. I've used them my last 3 trips in and out of SJO and had no major problems. Will use them again in the future.

Am now in San Jose and Hotel Castillo. searchcostarica.com came thru like a charm: Using InterBus as the carrier...there was the guy with mt name on the sign waiting for me to exit customs. The service works...you can pay via PayPal and, in my view, you're getting a lot more individual attention coupled with super speedy emails.

I didn't find any bargains to be had in duty free this arrival. There used to be 2 litres of Glenfiddich 12 year for $48.00. That deal is gone.

They most likely serve all scheduled arrivals but the best way to find out is to book your reservation. If they accept it you know it is good if they say sorry you know they do not.

My last trip in July, I had a late flight leaving. When I booked with Interbus the site took the reservation and charged my card the $14.00 (in and out) Later was told they don't transfer out past 5p.m.Mine was for 9 p.m. Said my card would be credited but hasn't happened yet. I don't foresee that but it was only 7 bucks. A lot less than the taxi I had to take. But if I had known upfront, I would not have booked the late transfer out. Like I said your card is charged immediately regardless of the times (in and out) you put in. I still use them every time. Never been stood up. Always there. And its always only me. Have a pick-up for Oct. 2. I love Interbus.

Steven1,

Thanks for the info on searchcostarica.com. I'm booked with them for this weekend arrival and will see if they come through for me.

Used interbus again last thursday. Took a few minutes to find the guy that was supposed to be holding the sign with my name on it but I tracked him down. He made a phone call & I waited about 15 more minutes & the van showed up & whisked me to the Prez. Not bad for $7.

I used this service last night from SJO to the SL. My flight arrived at 2105 and after over 45 minutes in line for immigration, I walked out to the arrivals hall. I didn't see anyone holding a sign with my name on it so I waited around with the masses of people at the arrivals hall.

After 10 minutes of wading through the crowd several times and reading all the signs with names on it, I literally bumped in to a guy wearing a grey Intebus polo shirt and holding my sign. It looked like he had just got there.

I was the only one on the bus and it worked and it certainly saved me about $20. I booked through their website directly. So, long answer made short, you won't have any problems using Interbus at 2200.
