Bill took me and 3 other guys on a tour of the new building today. It is, in a word, gorgeous. The whole area is designed to be a little more quiet and laid-back. Every one of the rooms is stunning, and they exhibit a little more diversity than the current rooms (jacuzzi tubs in different locations, different furniture in every room, one room has a kitchen, etc.).
The materials in these rooms and the common area are top-notch, and the whole building has a very opulent feel. Bill confirmed prices from $109 - $159, with the largest and most expensive being the two-bedroom suite. There are plenty of flat-screen TV's throughout, including at least one in each suite. The common area is more like a lounge than the restaurant/bar in the main building. Long sofas, plenty of coffee table space, and recessed mood lighting. Access will be semi-restricted to keep the noise levels down, but if you're staying in this section, you'll be able to bring girls and maybe a friend or two over for drinks at the bar. Bar hours will be 5 p.m. through 10 p.m.
Bill stated that he would post here and in other forums as soon as he is ready to accept reservations for these rooms. I expect the occupancy rate for these rooms will be quite high.
I totally concur. The new "mansion" rooms are phenomenal! There are a total of 8 new rooms, every room different from the other. The common area with couches, flat screen tv's, new bar, etc is going to be fantastic. Plus the new sauna and massage area is a nice touch.
Srilm is correct on the pricing. They may cost a little more than many of the rooms in other hotels, but IMHO you get what you pay for. Plus Bill will honor the CRT discount. There'll always be less expensive rooms throughout the existing parts of the SL that you can book, if you don't want to pay more for one of the "mansion" rooms. But the new rooms, along with the craftsmanship and upscale furnishings, are (IMHO) comparable to some of the rooms at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.
And if money's a concern, there's always Nuevo Johnson or CCI, Inc!

But personally, I'm looking forward to staying in one of the new rooms on my next trip. My biggest concern is that you phuckers will have them all booked when I go to make my reservation!
