Hey guys, maybe you can help me out.

I am headed down to SJ for the first time in a few weeks with two buddies that have been before. It did not take a lot of convincing to get me to go, and they have been very helpful answering questions.

There is one thing that they could not help me on, that is when it came to pictures of the ladies. One of my buddies took no pictures at all, and the other came back with a few. He said he asked a few girls if the minded, only one or two let him get a snap before they got to business.

Photography is a big deal for me, I used to do it for a living and still enjoy it as a serious hobby. Are the girls responsive to having their pictures taken at all? I am not even talking about explicit stuff, just good candid pictures and the like. I have a real nice setup, I was just wondering if I was going to be able to use it on this part of my trip.

It all depends on the individual chica and what her situstion is. Many are married or have boyfriends, and their family does not know what they are doing. Many just have a fear of their picture showing up on the internet.
THEN THERE ARE MANY WHO LOVE TO HAVE THEIR PICTURE TAKEN!!!.

You just have to ask each chica 8) :!:

Digital photos have been a Godsend to amateur photogs and morons who post pics of chicas on the internet without their permission have been the bane. Generally speaking, the hotter Colombianas are harder to get to pose because they are often working undercover and would die if their family found out what they are really doing in CR.

I'd be VERY careful about bringing expensive photographic equipment to CR. It's not going to fit in your safe, which means you'll have to carry it around with you when you leave the room (don't leave it in the room, or it could disappear). Carrying it around will make you a target for a mugging.

I know you probably hate them, but just get a little digitital camera and do your best. Consider it a challenge to take good pictures with crappy equipment ;)

MadGerman, I find the opposite to be true. I have large SLR digital with a big lens on it and several video cameras on mini-tripods. None of them are easily concealable whereas the little digitals are easy to slip into a purse.

Often, smaller is just easier to steal. That is why MP3 players, cell phones and mini-cameras are most often stolen items.

That may be true, but it's still asking for trouble, I think... You are definitely right that smaller items are easier to walk out the door with. I'd still say watch your stuff.

I've heard that some places have safes big enough for laptops yet not big enough for photo equipment. How large are some of the hotels room safes?

Thanks,

I can only recall the last safe I used which was at La Amistad and it was large enough for my small laptop (big widescreen might not fit) along with a dslr body with grip attached, 2 small lenses, and an external flash. It seems like SL and ZB have similar size safes.
