Me and my Wingman, first time to CR, have booked a flite for 4/4 -4/11 and by reading the post here it sounds like the first couple of nights we need to stay at HDR. Does anyone know what the rates are or should I just email them and ask them. I'm not looking to go cheap but I'm not looking to buy the place there ether. I like the cost at the SL are they close to it.

Thanks

The cost for a room at the Del Rey starts at $70 plus taxes/night unless they have gone up again. This is approximately the same as the rooms at the SL with your VIP discount. There are many different hotels for you to stay at. The difference for the two you ask about is that the DR is truly staying "in the belly of the beast." If you like to be right in the middle od the ACTION 24 hours a day,but have accomodations that are less that other hotels then it's for you. For your first few days ever in CR it's not a bad idea. The SL is about a 10 minute walk from the DR. The accomodations are much nicer and the owner (Bill) and staff are dedicated to you having a good time. The two places are equal distance from Zona Blue and New Fantasy which are the current MPs of choice. Hope that helps.

Suite) at $130.00 + tax **1
person**
Deluxe with 1 King Size Bed at $120.00 + tax **1
person**
Deluxe with 2 Queen Size Beds at $120.00 + tax
**2 people**

I guess they start at $80 plus tax now. They also charge you $10 for every chica you bring to the room. Personally I would stay at the SL or the Clarion with the CRT discount and NO chica fees unless you need to be right in the middle of the action

That's what I'm thinking to. maybe 1 or 2 nights there then we are thinking of seen the sites go for a zip line and ATV tour. Wingman is saying to play it by ear. Don't make any reservations other that the Friday and Saturday night we get there and then on the Thursday night before we leave. What's your input on that VB?

Thanks

That all depends on how much risk you like to take. The high season in San Jose is January through April, and most of the desirable hotels book out months in advance. You may end up having to take a hotel you know nothing about and may not allow you to bring chicas to your room. But then again, you might find some decent rooms at SL or any other CRT-friendly hotel. It's all just a matter of the personalities of you and your friend.
