ID,
You're probably right!

I just think it's awesome - what "The Rock" did. I have an entire new respect for that man...

I'm a fan of the Morazan also.

I usually pick up a free Tico Times at the small tourist info desk in the airport. After Immigration, down the stairs, bathrooms on the right, Customs on the left, Tourist Info in between.

If I don't find a TT, I tell the Morazan desk guy that I'll bring the coupon the next day. Never had a problem. Sometimes I never bring them the coupon, I just ask for the TT rate.

My thoughts on Hotel Costa Rica Morazan. I've stayed there about 15 times. I love the location and price. The all night restaurant is convenient. There's only one internet computer in the lobby, but it's almost always available, and working.

The restaurant isn't new and I'm not sure that I agree on new, low prices in the rest. Rum and Coke is C2000, at del Rey C1500 or so. Simple American breakfast was pricey, but convenient.

My least favorite thing about the Morazan is the annoying bellman, Ricardo. The desk staff has changed over 4 times in 6 years, but Ricardo has been there 25 years or so.

I change money at the Casino in a minute, with a rate 2% better than the del Rey. Over Labor Day, Morazan gave 515 C/$, del Rey gave 505.

tell him you are a CRT member and you will get an upgrade on your room.

I find this hard to believe. They don't have that many upgraded rooms, and the price is almost double the TT rate.

Quote:
tell them CaptMike sent you, when you speak to Jose and upgrade will happen for same price

Again, hard to believe. I like the Morazan, but I'm skeptical of the original post. Anybody getting free upgrades??

The restaurant has changed hands. The concession ran out and was not renewed.

Rate of 515 not all that great as the going is almost 518. It seems good because the HDR casino is so bad

To get back on topic could some tell if there are small refrigerators in the rooms? And when you say first chica free and second chica $10 I assume that is at the same time and not per day.
Thanks Joker99

to your question about refridgerators in the rooms, the bigger rooms, Jr. Suites, ect have them but not the single $41 per night. You can ask Jose the manager to see if they can get you one, but you might as well pay a little extra and get a much bigger room, twice the size of the Delrey and the ammenties.

The tica fee is free, plus $10 for the 2nd person, per that occasion, not per the whole day unless you don't let the girls go for free. If you need a few hour hotel, i believe they charge $25 for 3 hours??

Lastly, prices at the new Morazan restaurant are now cheaper than Sportman's Lodge, DelRey, Presidente, ect. A beer is 700 colones, rum/coke 1200 colones. Their food menu has changed and all is under new management. I'll be there this weekend, the 12th through the 16th.

You never need a coupon, anymore, the price is posted on the wall. It's either $35 in the paper plus tax, which equals $41 or at the hotel it's posted as $41 including tax. There you have it. :D :D

Thanks Captmike2007 do you know what a bigger room with a refrigerator would cost and are the refrigerators empty. Also are there digital safes in the rooms and do they use card keys.
Thanks Joker99

I dont' understand your reasoning. You still need a coupon? You stated with newspaper its 35 + tax, and at the hotel its 41 + tax. Thats a $6 difference.

011-506-222-4622. No problem walking a chica the one block. Even a Colombiana would not expect a taxi
