I searched and found a few threads from 2005, I need more recent info.

Any decent hotels in Limon or Puerto Viejo? I need one with 2 bedrooms and a pool.

BTW, how far is PV from Limon?

Orange, I recall it being about 30 minutes from Limon to PV. Potholed filled pavement all the way.

The road will test your cars shocks if you don't pay attention

I have driven thru Limon and found it to be a worse than SJ as far as cleanliness. I would suggest driving further south to PV, or Manzanillo for a better experience.

There are plenty of small hotels in PV and I recall a few having pools, will search for more info from my intial trip in Oct of 06. I recall a beach between PV and Manzanillo, very clean secluded nice place to hang with the novia will get back with specifics. The beach at Manzanillo was fairly clean as well, rent snorkle gear or kayaks for recreational activities. Good restaurant at the end of the road two stories overlooks the beach and serves some good creole influenced comida

I stayed at the Maribu Caribe about 4 years ago. It has rooms in these bungalows right along the caribbean. It is not luxery like the Presidente or Sportsman Lodge in San Jose but it was clean and safe and had a/c and cable tv's and hot water and a large swimming pool to have fun with your novia. It's about a 10 to 15 minute taxi north of Limon. It also has a restaurant with great view of the Caribbean. I got out the brochure from way back and the phone is 506-795-2543 or 506-795-4010. Email is maribucaribe@hotmail.com There was no web site on this brochure. I paid about 30 dollars a night 4 years ago in summer including breakfeast. Bueno Surte.

I looked into Maribu Caribe, looks nice. I was quoted $66/night thru some agency. I will try contacting them direct.

Thanks.

Right in downtown Limon there's a hotel called the Park Hotel. I reccommend it.

I looked into this place while doing my search. Can one of the CR residents get me direct contact info for this place? A phone number or email would be greatly appreciated.

I don't like booking thru travel agencies, they tack on 25% commission.

This won't be a help to Brother Orange but the tripadvisor site lists 3 other hotels at 4-stars, one of which is the Park Hotel. There are 2 '08 reviews of Hotel Maribu Caribe en Espanol.
