Hi all, just finished up a 4 day trip and this is the 10th time i´ve visited the Morazan. The restaurant is now there along with the new staff. This is great news, the prices are cheaper and the service is excellnt. They have rooms from $35 during the week, up to about $75.

Jose is the manager and tell him you are a CRT member and you will get an upgrade on your room. This place is very Tica friendly and more ticas are showing up in the bar. The casino is nice and much more relaxing from the Hotel Del Rey. Book in advance by calling and tell them what you need.

First Tica is free, second is $10. Also, the entire place is well protected by security and is 1-block from the Blue Marlin.

Lastly, tell them CaptMike sent you, when you speak to Jose and upgrade will happen for same price. The rooms are being refurbished and plenty of room. Much better than the DelRey and you can take a cab anywhere for about $1-2 dollars. Tip the guards and the maids and your service will be even more satisfying.

I have stayed eveywhere, DelRey, the Presidente, Zona Blue, Hotel Amon (Clario property) and this place has all amenties for the price and the chica friendly atmosphere. The rooms are very nice and I recommend it with a 5 star rating based on my experience and other mongers. I don´t make a commission on this email but I figured all of you need to know about new management and ammenties.

I promise you´ll love it and you will save money. Pick up a Tico Times there are discounts.

Have fun,
CaptMike :lol: :D

From what I read on here, they don't respect their reservatins. Thats pretty frustrating. I wanted to stay there. It was also a little of a hassle to find the tico times coupon before checking in. I'm staying at another hotel this time. Is the tico times coupon only good for that week only?

Have friends who have stayed there every trip for the past 2 years. They have not experienced any reservation problems. When they make the reservation they get a confirmation number. About a week prior to their arrival they reconfirm using the confirmation number and everything goes smoothly. I think the "problem" with reservations disappeared when they changed some staff.

Tico Times coupon has no expiration date printed on it and is exactly the same every week so there is no way the hotel would know when you clipped it out of the newspaper.

just a thought, but somebody might post a .pdf image of the coupon so people could have it in-hand when they arrive. Any volunteers?

Excellent idea, MK, although I do not know how many of our people in CR have scanners.
I heard our dear friend Mr. Gusto lost his in a bet with Bob Riley over the Gators last weekend. :(

i have been going to san jose for 2 years and that coupon has been in the tico times every time i have looked ....just walk in to the news cafe they have free tico times laying around and rip out the coupon and walk up the hill...sounds pretty easy to me...i have booked a room there maybe 6 trips and only had on bad nite ..they said the room i request ( room 201) next to the sport book was having a problem ..water all over the place...not sure if its true !!! but what the hell....i went and stayed at the royal dutch...same price just a little father from most of the action...and the rooms are a little cleaner ....but nothing beats getting that girl to walk to the morazan for 40.00 from the delray or 20.00 /25.00 from the NY bar ..and that little bar in the morazan has got me some freaky girls ...hell on time i grab a girl coming out of the room , 3 doors down from me...i said ...20.00 for a quick bj ...she said ok poppy ..on some nights the whole hotel is crazy with gringos.....

I guess it was just a matter of time before someone posted this story! :oops:

I certainly wasn't going to bring it up!!!! :oops: :oops: :oops:

But on a lighter note..... How 'bout "The Rock" donating one million dollars to the University of Miami ?!?!?!? That was one helluva unselfish & generous donation! I know that Irish Drifter is happy about that. From what I understand, the 'Canes are going to name a locker room after him. Here's the story in today's paper -

===================================

'The Rock' cooks up $1M donation to UM
THE MIAMI HERALD

Actor, wrestler and former Miami Hurricane defensive lineman Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Dany Garcia Johnson donated $1 million to the University of Miami Tuesday morning as part of the ongoing Football Facilities Renovation Fund. In recognition of the gift, the locker room will be named the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson Locker Room.

"We are excited to continue this legacy of excellence by making a contribution that will propel our student-athletes to greater achievement, whether on the field, in the board room or on the silver screen," Johnson said of the gift in a statement released by the university.
====================================

BTW, I'm also sorry for the hijack. :oops: MG

El Silencioso;
As the best football is played in Florida, the atention naturally is focused on the Sunshine State. As for the behavior of the Gator players, I would defer to Mr. Gusto. I am pleased to say that such antics are no longer accepted nor tolerated at the University of Miami. :D
I heard from one of my UM buddies that there is a donor who is going to match ($ for $) what the former players give. If true the Rock just brought in $2 million. But if there are moving to Dolphins Stadium next season couldn't that money go to a use other than a locker room?

Now back to the Morazon.... :oops: Anybody have a scanner???

I am sure the locker room they are referring to is the one in The Hecht Athletic Center. That and the Greentree Practice Fields facilities and Baseball Stadium are being renovated last I knew.
