I wanted to share a great experience my friends and I had with a driver this week. We got Andres number off ot the CRT discussion board and contacted him. He picked us up on time at the airport and took us to the hotel. I guess no big deal.

My friend wanted to go out to Jaco and take a GFE with him. So we called Andre. Although I didnt go on the trip, my friend said the driver was amazing and new everything and all the spots between Jaco and San Jose.

They are picking us up tomorrow to take us to the airport.

Andres' number in CR is 826 1860. If you need a driver, I highly recommend him.

Yea of little faith. He gave my friends an amazing tour, hooked them up with a bungalow on the beach, took them to certain picturesque areas, restaurants, etc. The entire day was about 14 hours total uncluding everything in between the drives to and from.

The trip to the beach took about 2 hours. He waited for my friends and took them where they wanted to go when they wanted to go.

Hey if you do not want to use him, don't use him. All I can say is the guy did a great job in my mind and in my friend's mind. He was very reliable and very helpful. I guess you could just take a bus if you REALLY wanted to save money, but we preferred it this way and were very happy with Andres.

So you are telling me that it is not worth it to have a full comfortable van to yourself with air conditioning, a driver you know and trust, and a guided tour of the area?
We are very happy with what we received in exchange for the extra $80.

If you want to jump into a taxi with someone you don't know for a two hour drive each way, have fun. It's not our style.

No one way is right or wrong. I am sure you enjoyed your taxi trip. We enjoyed our van trip.

No worries.

Juiceguy,
I think what some of the guys are trying to say here, is that there are many great drivers in CR who don't charge quite as much. But if you're happy with what you paid, so be it.

Here's a thread that came out a while back. Many of us have listed our favorite drivers in this thread, including phone numbers.

https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/vi ... php?t=8340

If your driver (Andres) is not available during your next trip to CR, you have many other options.

Pura Vida,
MG
