Hi, I'm not sure if this is where I should be posting this. I was just wondering how fast the internet is in CR. Is the service the same throught the whole country or is it better in San Jose and other big cities. I just got home on Wed. I used a few internet cafes and wasn't impressed. I would assume that there is good service with all the online gaming. Do you think the cafes just had old equipment or is it realy that bad. Thanks, Win

Like many other places, you can't make that much of a generalization. Some people with cable modems seem to do quite well. Using a wireless connection in a hotel will depend on how the hotel is connected to the net. I haven't tried out of SJ so I can't say for sure. I do know some people who "telecommute" to jobs in the US successfully from SJ. Like most places, there are times when connections seem to stop, though I've seen that in some cities in the US too. I did find that when I edited a web site in the US while in CR that the browser would not refresh, but kept going back to the cached version. To see the changes I had to scp it to my local machine. Also I could only access some local mirrors when looking for something like Google.
