Hey what's up raw. I was in Flamingo about 6 months ago. there is some chick action but it is limited. Right in Flamingo Beach is a nice resturant and casino. I forgot the name of it. When you get there it will be easy to find. Also there is one night a week at a local bar outside Flamingo called Las Brisas I think. Ask anyone in Flamingo about the night life they will sugest this place. The one night that this particular bar is happening there is a decent amount of chicas for hire. The casino I decribed first usually has between 5-8 eight girls on a given night ranging from about a 5-7 in my opinion. I am going to be there the last week of this month. Let me know if you want to get a drink. Tux

This might help.

Amberes is the name of the Rest/Bar/Casino just down from the Flamingo Marina Resort. Nice place (the resort and the Rest).

I'll be there 8 and 9 Sept.

Hey Raw,
HotLuck is correct. The name of the only monger bar in Flamingo is "Amberes". It's just up the hill from the Flamingo Marina. I have been there many, many times over the past year. I was just there this past weekend. This time of year, 8 - 10 chica's per night, and they arrive after 9 p.m. 5's, 6's and 7's are the norm. If you find an 8 or better, grab it quick. It gets busier during peak season. Then, you can find up to about 20 - 25 girls there per night. Flamingo Beach is a gorgeous white sand beach, and there were some topless sun-bather's there last weekend also. The other chica bar 'Las Brisas' is across the bay in Playa Portero. I've never been there, but I understand that there's some action there on Wednesday nights. The best way to get to Flamingo from San Jose is to fly Sansa into Tamarindo, then taxi to Flamingo Beach. Flight is $71. one way / per person. Keep in mind, though, Amberes is closed every year for the whole month of October. Good Luck & Have Fun.

I have stayed in Flamingo a few times also ..... if you go to Ambers . hang on to your wallet !! The best thing to do is to bring a fine tica with you ! It is not a place to try and find working girls ! The area is beautiful & and one of the best charter capitans ( Sunny / Wet Ass II ) works out of Flamingo ..... You will get your best food in town down at "Maries" ! Or a short trip down to Brasalito To the Happy Snapper or Camarón-Dorado . I'd stay at the "Flamingo Beach Resort "! The brothers that run it are good guys and will take care of any problem that comes up .. Just tell them one of the " Michigan Boys " sent you !

Hey Raw,
I agree with GigBag about the Flamingo Beach Resort. Great place to stay, and the front desk and bar staff are great. Also, Marie's restaurant, which is about 100 yards from the hotel, has some of the best oven roasted chicken in CR. The 'Happy Snapper' restaurant, a few miles away in Brasilito, has some awesome seafood dinners, and the owners (Michael & Craig) are from California, and they're great guys. The Maitre'd, Fernando, will take great care of you. But I disagree with what he says about a couple things.

First of all, whether you're in Amberes or any other place in CR, you need to hang onto your wallet. Although there aren't near as many chica's in Flamingo as SJ, I've been with several beautiful chica's from Amberes, and most of them have been great GFE's. And like anywhere else, you never pay what they initially ask for. "NO CIEN". If GigBag can't find a chica in Amberes, then something's seriously wrong.

On one trip, there were only 7 chica's in the bar on a Thursday night (but there were only 6 guys in there, 3 of them were mi amigo's). I asked the owner, Hubert, if he'd make some phone calls to get more girls. Within 90 minutes, there were 22 girls waiting at the bar. Granted, when the "Michigan Boys" come to town each year, I understand that there's around 400 - 500 guys in town for that week. So the pickin's might be a little slim that particular week, but I can tell you, that I've made 10 trips to Flamingo Beach in the past 14 months, and I never had a problem finding a pretty little chica to occupy my time, and fulfill all of my desires.

As far as the best charter captain, Sunny / WetAss II is outstanding, but If he's not available, ask for Capt. Junior Busto (or owner Richard Chellimi) on the Gamefisher II, or Jose on the Permit III. Both are great captains, and they've always put us on fish. We've also had great luck on the boats "Tranquilamar", as well as the "CILKY II". YMMV.

Good Luck, and Have Fun.

Mikey B.

Man . you guys must realy have built us up to a higher plain ! ( The Michigan Boys ) I agree the pickens are a little slim when the group is in town . The quality girls are all spoken for most of the week . So I guess I would not get a good feel for what goes on the rest of the year ! .... . But The most we ( The Michigan Boys ) have ever had in town was 160 ! It only seems like there are 500 of us !
And when I said hang onto your wallet in Ambres . I ment there do not seem to be many winners at the tables there ! . By the way . I caught my first Marlin on "Rich's" boat ! A good choice also !

I'm not as good as I once was ... But I'm as good "once " as I ever was !!

Gig,
I guess my numbers were off a little, but I only guessed "400-500" guys, because the chica's in Flamingo talk about the Michigan Boys all the time. When you guys come to town, it's like a National Holiday for these chicas. I remember when I tried to book a room (Sportsman's Suite w/jacuzzi) at the Flamingo Marina Resort a few months ago, I couldn't get one because everything was booked solid because the Michigan Boys were in town that week. Believe me, in Flamingo Beach, you guys are like an ICON. EVERYONE knows when the Michigan Boys are coming to town. Every once in a while, when a chica starts talking smack to me or one of my friends, she'll mention "the Michigan Boys" to try to make one of us jealous. I can only imagine what the SJ chicas are saying to each other about this upcoming Labor Day Weekend. Believe me, the chica 'hotline' is alive and well in CR.

That being said, I DID have a chance to party with some of the guys in your group, and (I don't remember their names) but they were all a great group of guys. They loved to fish, loved to drink, and loved the chica's (not necessarily in that order)!! But here's an experiment for you.....Next time you're in Flamingo, and you're snuggled up with some nice little kitten, mention the "Florida Boys" to her and watch her smile. We certainly don't have 160 guys going there at one time, but we're there often, every few weeks. Trust me, she'll know exactly who you're talkin about! As you've seen, there's not the selection of chica's in Amberes as there is in SJ, and I guarantee, that between myself, and all of mi amigos, we've touched each and every one of them! (at least twice each) !!!

As far as the casino at Amberes, I've never lost too much money in there, but I've never won a great deal of money either. I just like it in there because (besides the only place with Air Conditioning) I enjoy sitting at one of the tables with my chica, and giving her a few colones to play with.
It seems like, more often than not, the chica wins, and that always sets the mood for a better session afterwards. Plus, the farmacia is right across the street if you need any jimmies or vitamins. Johnny, the pharmacist, has always taken good care of us, whatever we need. I've had better, more consistent luck at the casino at the Flamingo Beach Resort, on the 2nd floor above the front desk. YMMV.

As far as boats, if you've fished with Richard (Gamefisher II) then you know he's a great charter. On one trip last year, we fished 3 days with Capt. Junior Busto on the Gamefisher II. Our weekend total was 4 Blue Marlin, 2 Striped Marlin, 40 - 50 Sails, Tuna, Wahoo, Dorado, Roosterfish, Cubera, etc. It was outstanding. That's one of the reasons we keep going back (besides the chica's)!

When are you guys making your next trip? Is it in April? Let me know. I'll probably be there anyway, but we'll sit and have a beer together, and tell lies about women and fishing........!

Take care,
Mikey B.

Hey Mickey ! and Raw !

Thanks for the praise ....... Seems like we are traveling in the same circle , just at different times .
The Michigan Boys first started out with there spring fishing tournament about 16 years ago ....... Flamingo was the where the came then ... and after a few years it moved to Gaunamar ........ south on the Nicoya peninsula , we were there from 95 -01 … the fishing there was much better ……. On one day there on my boat we caught 2 Dorado , 2 Striped Marlin , and 32 sails …….. the next day our record was smashed ! One boat caught 45 sails ….. and the last day of the tournament , some poor saps caught 58 sails ! ( I guess the CR record is 60 , the captain was shooting for it ! ) I believe the tournament as a hole holds some record ! We moved back to Flamingo in 2002 …. The accommodations in Gaunamar were falling apart ! And Flamingo was happy to get us back . I first few years the trip had only 20 or 30 guys . and then just grew from there ! ( 160 at last count )
The trip may have come to a end though . the saint that has bared all the headaches of putting this gig together all these years is retiring this year and has said me may not do it again …… Say a little prayer for him , maybe he will do it again !
But I can guarantee most of us will be back one way or another !!

And I will certainly take you up on that beer ! ( By the way … Where can I get a damn Canadian beer in CR ? )

I’m not as good as I once was ……… But I’m as good once as I ever was !
:D

Hey Gig,
Hopefully, your trip coordinator will continue with the organization of your annual trip. But even if he doesn't, that shouldn't matter. You've been there enough times. You can book it yourself. Sometimes, it's even better if you do the trip alone, or with only one or two wingmen. I've had trips by myself, and other trips with as many as 8 other guys.

I've gone a few times solo, and (believe me) you'll never be alone. But I've found that the best trips I've had is when I go with one other guy. There's always plenty of room in the rental car for 2 guys & 2 chicas. Plus, it's always fun to have someone to talk to in English, while the chica's are blabbing in español.

Just pick up the phone, book your flight(s) and your hotel room(s). If you don't want a rental car, there's plenty of taxi's around. If you want to fish, you can select a boat AFTER you get into town. There's plenty around.

But the best thing about going to Flamingo Beach (WITHOUT 150 other horny mongers), is that there'll be more chica's to pick from.

28 days and counting 'til trip # 11............

JUST DO IT!!!!!!

Mikey-B...Flamingo update.

spent 2 nights last week in flamingo. the pickings at Amber were thin. 3chicas .. did not partake. tired from San Jose.

The dock/pier/marina has been torn down. you have to dingy out to the fishing boat. sucks. something about polution, etc. new marina planned.

Fishing was great. Better than expected. 1st day...8 sails and one 30lb Dorado.

2nd day. 6 yellow fin, 4 sails, one 70lb (yes we weighed it) Dorado and one 350lb Marlin (not weighed)

Weather is cool, beer is cold, chicas are hot.

back to reality tomorrow...

Hotluck,

Thanks for the update. I'll be back there in 3 weeks. Doing 1st night at the DR, then 2 nights in Flamingo, then the last night at DR again.

The marina's been closed since June '04. The past several trips, we've had to take an inflatable out to the charter boat in the bay.
....And a 70 lb. Dorado ?????? That's awesome. That must of been a huge bull. The biggest one I've caught weighed 62 lbs, and I thought that one was huge. Nice job on the sails and marlin also. BTW...what boat did you fish on? Gamefisher? Permit? Tranquilimar? Cilky? WetAss?

Only 3 chica's in Amberes? Let me guess......Flori, Jacqueline and Tatianna (or maybe Pattie)?? Am I close?
Flori is a nympho, good PSE but real sloppy p*ssy. One trip, my wingman popped her in the shooter. She loved it.
Jacqueline is pretty nice, but always a CBJ, never a BBBJ.
Tatianna is a GFE type, but never less than CIEN Por Todo La Noche. Kind of shy, if you like that type.
Only sessioned with Pattie once, because she was very mechanical. A real bore, plus a clock-watcher.

Amberes closes the whole month of October, so this upcoming trip, I'm going to bring one of my SJ kittens with me to Flamingo for a couple days.

Did they give you any indication when they're going to open the marina again? Every time I ask someone, noone seems to give me a straight answer. What hotel did you stay in?

Thanks for the update.

Mikey B.

Hey Mikey,

Thanks for the tip !

But I have been to CR many other times on my own !

San Jose , Joco , Arenal ....... and I have had my good times in BM !
As for the marina in flamingo ....... I guess it's just a matter of who pays the Goverment the biggest bribe to take it all over . I heard that one of the big hotel chains is bidding on it , and will rebuild it all better ! ( put in gas tanks that don't leak into the bay ! ) and build and hotel on the site also !
Here is some more info on it also ..... http://www.ticotimes.net/archive//06_18_04_b.htm

Hmmmmmmmm.. I just may have to take a long weekend in San Jose soon .... I miss it alrerady !
