Hey Guys,

I'm busy planning a trip for early in May. How is the weather in SJ & Jaco at that time of year? I'm thinking the Paradise Hotel in Jaco for a few days and then back to the gulch for a few more. Will there be plenty of action in Jaco that time of year? If I arrange a driver to pick me up at SJO, how long would it take them to get us to Jaco? Any help is appreciated.

UKlf1986,
My first trip to Costa Rica was May of last year,
the weather wasn't that bad, rain from time to time,
but is was okay. I'll be in Jaco on 8 May, return to SJ on 14 May,
staying at the Copa. If your around during that time period,
perhaps we can meet up at the Beatle bar.
Should be plenty of ladies around at night in Jaco, and really
just about any time in SJ....except the weeks of Christmas and New Years.
I've heard Easter sucks as well, but I only have first hand
knowledge about Christmas and New Years.
I think it took like 2 1/2 hours to get to Jaco from SJ when I went
last year in September, though that took into account the almost
45 minutes to get out of SJ...really bad traffic that day.
I'll be leaving directly from the airport this time, so I should make good time,
perhaps 1 1/2 hours.

Shyone, you must have caught a rare dry period that month. Last year in May we had between 30-40 inches. But I've found in five years in Jaco you really can't establish a pattern. Never know what you'll get during rainy season.
