I've been searching the board for info regarding a fishing license. No, not for pink snapper. I will be spending most of my time during my upcoming trip on the Carribean Coast and then over to the Pacific. I've fished from shore on many of my trips to other destinations and having enjoyed surf fishing. I find mention of a $30USD fishing license but don't know if its for one day, one week, or one year. I'd love to do a trip out of Quepos for sails but I may have to do that on a future trip. Some of the out of the way beaches in my plans might be fun to fish but I don't want a local game warden hauling me off to jail for fishing without a license. I've got lots of info on pink snapper but could use some info on una licencia de pescar deportivo. Norteño |

Any Charter Boat you fish on will have the fishing license on board . You will need your passport number to fill it out . Price of the license is usually included in the charter fee . I am not 100% sure but I don’t think you need one to fish from the shore . |

Mulletguter, I beleive the fishing license is somewhere around $24 to $28 and it is good for a year. In Quepos the license is issued at a stand before you enter the main gate to board the boat. License is required for shore or deep sea. I don't think any boat fee will include the license price though. Mente |
