Does Jaco or Quepos have "open" boats for deep sea fishing. An open boat in the states is one where they accept walkups. Example, if a boat holds 10 people the boat loads up with the first 10 to show. As I will be a solo traveler to CR it would be just too expensive to rent a charter for one person. |

HerbF, I can't speak for Jaco but I have seen guys try to fill a charter in Quepos. I do not know the outcome as I have always made sure I had a boat when I was there. The last time in Quepos there was a guy on the pier trying to find a spot on High-Tec and there wasn't one to be had (Jan 23). There are a lot of charter outfits in Quepos that advertise "fill ins" but I have no idea what the real deal is. PAX, Sluthog |

I'd suggest that you post the days of your trip plans in the Role Call section. There are at least 4 of us who wanted to go fishing sometime during the April 8-12 timeframe, and I'm coordinating a combined charter. If your dates coincide, PM me. Otherwise, post what the dates you'll be there are, and you very well might find others who want to split a boat during the same time. |
