A popular dance club on Paseo Colon has called it quits. Expect this trend to accelerate after the first of the year. The CR government said it intends to normalize businesses even before the economy recovers and let various commercial moratoriums lapse including those related to suspended or reduced payments of rents, utilities, caja contributions, taxes, etc. This will only accelerate layoffs and dissolutions of formal businesses.

This process is well underway in Medellin, Colombia where Mangos and My Sweet Jesus permanently closed earlier in the year.

I'm not surprised. I went there last year with my chica and the place was empty.
