Has anyone rented a mountain bike in San Jose? It is a great way to get around and see a lot in a short amount of time. Any issues with it getting stolen even if locked up? I would only be riding around during the day.

Putting aside the spambot "Malconcindy's" comments, have you seen the "Greater San Jose Metro Area" traffic? You think the drivers would respect bicycles?

And when you pedal down to the HDR from Zona II or whatever, where are you going to lock it up? On the street? Ha!

You could rent one in Jaco to get around, but turn your back on it for a moment and it will be stolen.

An amigo is a cyclist who lives in Pavis, near the U.S. embassy. He has a GREAT time with his bike, but he doesn't ride into the Gulch.
