Not that I (or most of you) spend a lot of time streaming Netflix while visiting MDE or SJO, but this might affect some expats who use VPN services to bypass Netflix's location filters:

Couldn't use my US Netflix when I first tried in Colombia in 2008. When I finally moved here, I could use it, but the selection was piss poor, so I dropped it 3 1/2 years ago. Last year, I received an e-mail offering me service in Colombia (with one month free)... I tried it and liked it, so I signed back on. When I visit the States, I get a much better movie selection, but I'll still take what I get here for 14,000 pesos/month ($5.85 US)... it's not bad. US Drama Net was a homerun until they started asking for "donations."

Never used a VPN, but I may need to use one. There are various money transfer sites that will not deal in dollars from a Colombian IP. I try to keep things simple, but sometimes reality make things complicated.

2 very interesting articles. Thanks for sharing, Bro MH--there were a ton of good suggestions in the comments of the 1st article. Somebody made the point that you can/will be blocked from Netflix in the U.S if it goes through a VPN (Virtual Private Network) even if you have that VPN for other, strictly-legit reasons and it's U.S.-only usage (guilty til proven innocent).
Love to have Bro Steven1's input on this...or any of our tech wizards.
