Planning spend some time in La Fortuna, Monteverde, Jaco, Quepos in July. I read some hostel review and saw feedback from travelers receiving overpriced and low quality tours from booking through their hostel (sounds like a "captive audience" issue). Then I found some sites like Defasio which offer bookings online. Question is should I book online, through the hostels / hotels, or just figure it out when I get down there? I'm traveling solo and would like the opportunity to do things with people I meet at the hostels, but if I book something separately and they book something else through the hostel, that wouldn't work out. Any advice? thanks |

Book tours after you get here. Best place is usually through hotels. Day tours are pretty much the same where ever you go. Over night adventures take more planning. Space is always available in tour groups so booking early is not needed. |
