I visited SJO about this time last year and there was apparently a huge match taking place (100's of ticos in red jerseys waiting for buses all over town) but I wasn't able to check it out. I'm visiting next weekend (the 24th - 25th) and would be interested to see a match in person. I know the national team isn't playing that weekend but I assume there are local or city leagues that play regularly. However, I'm not a spanish-speaker and google isn't really helping me find San Jose sporting schedules. Anyone know where I could check to see if there is one?

If you do find the site listing soccer games, remember that in Costa Rica (and throughout LA), the home team is listed FIRST. Just mentioning so you don't go to the wrong stadium.
