The US might not make it to the World Cup. Due to a labor issue/problem,
they might have to face Trinidad & Tobago (their first game) with 'substitute' players.
What a shame that would be. Reminds me of the NHL lockout. What they should do is put the owners representatives and players union reps in a locked room and not let them out until they reach a compromise agreement. Let the f*ckers starve to death if necessary. I think it's safe to say that you'd see an agreement reached after about the third or fourth day!

I will be in town for the Jun 8 game v Guatemala. I will definitely be in attendance at that game. I went to a World Cup qualifier a few years ago v. Mexico and it was one of the most exciting sporting events that I have ever seen. I plan on buying my tickets when I am in town for the CRT Super Bowl Bash.

THIS JUST IN FROM THE GM AT THE PRESIDENTE! As a courtesy whether you are staying at the Presidente or not, I will shortly have an email address for you to request that they purchase World Cup Tickets for you and you can pick them up and pay for them at that time.

The seats will be the numbered seats so that you don't have to be there hours before.

I strongly recommend attending these games. They are lots of fun.

FYI, Tickets are for sale at the Interfin Bank, one block west and half a block south from the Hotel, next to BK, behind the National Theater. Prices: Platea (numbered seats) 15.000 colones ($32) each (recommended). There are cheaper ones also, but non-numbered, which means that you have to arrive VERY early to find a good seat.

To Request Tickets VIA THE PRESIDENTE USE
vip@hotel-presidente.com

REMEMBER GUYS THEY are going out of their way to get ticktes for us so please if you order them make sure you pick them up and pay for them. If you don't use them you can always give them away to your favorite Tica. I THINK YOU WILL GET SOME BONUS MILES OUT OF THOSE!

I plan on buying 2 tickets with the intention of inviting an interested Tica to join me. It is really a wild scene, watching the Ticas go crazy in the stands during the game. The last time that I went, I took my favorite taxi driver as my guest but I think that he`s gonna` miss out this trip.

I went to the qualifier game against Guatemala last Oct and had a blast. too bad I'm missing the Mexico game this Feb by a couple days otherwise I would go. I totally recommend this.

Thanks Admin for the post regarding the Presidente. We had no idea where to get them last time and the taxista ended up finding us a scalper. our tickets were in the unreserved section so it was difficult but not impossible to find seats. plus, it was pretty rowdy so don't do it if you get agitated getting bumped around in crowds...

go get em guys!
