I am going to be staying at SL for a week and I am trying to figure out how to make a day trip to La Selva

I want to keep my room at SL and come back at night.
Thanks!
Yes, I've explored the area, and been to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui several times. La Selva is located in the northern lowlands region, on the Caribbean slope, and the La Selva Biological Station is located about 3 km south of Puerto Viejo. Your best bet would be to rent a car or hire a driver for the day... it is roughly a 1 1/2 - 2 hr trip from the gulch. To get there from the gulch, take Calle 3 north until it becomes Hwy 32. Hwy 32 is a toll road, and will take you east through Parque Nacional Braulio Carrillo towards Guapiles. As you head down the Caribbean slope, take Hwy 4 north towards Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui. After passing through the pueblo, Las Horquetas, look for the park entrance on the left side of the road.
