Post subject:  Dental Vacation seeking input on accomodations in San Jose

Hello and an introduction,

I found this forum when researching dentist in Costa Rica. I am coming to Costa Rica for the 1st time next week for a full mouth restoration at smile90210.

I haven't found accommodations yet, I am still looking and would appreciate suggestions and input.

Im a girl, coming on a dental vacation. I like quiet, peace, tranquility and a good clean bed. I should mention I am on a budget under $100 per day. I like the idea of chetica ranch are there any other ranches or recovery type hotels ? otherwise I could do with a self contained secure condo.

Thanks

I've seen single female dental tourist stay at www.casa69.com without a problem.
(69 happens to be the street address of the hotel)

Another option would be the Sleep Inn Downtown. They have a weekly rate
and free airport transportation. http://www.sleepinn.com

I joined the site so I can get my 25% or more discount from smile90210. Makes sense to me ;-)
Mike has been in touch with the ranch to assure my transportation will be on time for my dental appointments as the ranch also provides that service.

My ideal dental vacation would be near the beach, alas San Jose will have to do.
I am coming from Toronto, I live right down, I am well too familiar with all kinds of noise. I m trying to escape this big city into some sort of piece, quiet and tranquility while I get my teeth fixed. After that I am off to the beach for another few days, flash my whitees, get a tan etc.

I checked out the casa69 online before, apparently trains roll right by the building form 5:30 am onwards. Otherwise it looks like a nice little place.

I've decided on http://www.cheticaranch.com I think this will suit my needs very well and comes within my budget. $75+13% tax, includes all this:
Every single cottage has it's own Cable TV / DVD, with over 65 channels, including CNN, HBO, ESPN, Sony, CBS and many more.
Hot Water Shower and your private bathroom
Music system and CD player
Reclining chair
Mountain Spring Bottled Water
Coffee Maker
Microwave
Refrigerator
Wood Burning Fireplace for those chilly nights!!
3 delicious home made meals plus tropical fruits and juices, vegetarian dishes available by request!!
Mid-afternoon tea / coffee and cookies.
Attentive, competent and special post/operative care!!
Registered Nurse on premises, with over 40 years experience, Carmen, Lorena's Mom!!
Local transportation to and from primary care Doctor's office and Clinic for patients.
Transfer to/from airport. FREE from 6 am to 8 pm arrivals and departures
Internet and International phone call FREE.

Thanks 911 Driver ...is ur nickname 911 for an emergency driver? :?

I've been in talks with a couple dentist in CR. While I remain optimistic that smile90210 will accept my last proposal, as of tonight I have not finalized my treatment. I m still coming on Monday though. Perhaps leaving to find a dentist til I get there. I dunno. My nature is spontaneous, my budget is tight. I m picky I want the best dental work & top of the line crowns. Im spending alot of money just coming there. I need to justify the expense and all the time spent researching my new whitees

Seems like a very nice place but I couldn't exactly locate it from their google earth website, what I did notice is it seems very far from the epicenter of SJ, and traffic in and out of SJ can be hard.

The last thing you want is an hour ++ ride home after a day in their chair which is 20-30 minutes from centro at rush hours. The ordeal of it all starts setting in regardless of the pain meds. You are going to be exhausted. And, I doubt they are going to drive you back that far, most of their customers stay downtown SJ. Jeff, a very good guy, waits until everyone is done and ready to go and drops everyone off. If they will, great, but maybe you should ask them.

I like Sleep Inn, downtown, new consruction, very very nice, very quiet, especially 3rd floor facing south. Bring your own DSL cable for the room, they want $12 per diem.

Oh let me clarify: since the ranch is a distance and also provides transportation to and from all dental appointments included in their price, I will be using the chetica ranch driver. Mike from smile 90210 and Ruben from chetica ranch have been in contact with 1 another. I am confident my transportation is good. I don't mind the drive, as long as I sleep like a baby ;-)

Im also bringing my rollerblades lol

i'll be there on the 13th for ten days getting the whitening. one thing ive noticed is that if you are having major or possible pain causing proceedure, you might want to stock up on good pain pills. dont know how this doc is but some are a little lean on the meds.
