as much as it kills me top admit, I can't do open ocean fishing. I've accepted the fact that I'm a puker and it kills me for hours/days afterwards. Not worth continuing to try.

But I'd like to hunt some snook, or baby tarpon, or peacock bass somewhere inshore, was wondering if anybody could suggest a direction on a boat, a guide, etc so I could come up to speed

There are fishing lodges at Rio Colorado that specialize in tarpon and snook fishing.

Rio Colorado Lodge. http://www.riocoloradolodge.com 2232-4063 / 800-243-9777 They also have an office in the lobby of the old Corobici in Sabana Norte (forget what the hotel name is now)

Silver King Lodge http://www.silverkinglodge.net 800-847-3474

WallyHotvedt,

ID gave you some good contact info. If you use one of these outfits, please let us know how you did, and if their prices were reasonable.
Thanks!

MG

Lake Arenal is known for rainbow bass. The tour operators wait at the damn, 15 minutes away from the town of La Fortuna.

unfortunately it has to be the caribbean side for you ~ you should be able to find yourself up to your neck in bonefish & tarpon if you head up to one of the fish camps north of limon ~ bring your insect repellant ~ fishing on the pacific is the ticket for me ~ but that is why baskin robins makes 31 flavors .... or is it the del rey that does that...... tight lines
