Does anybody know of any freshwater fishing locations, tours, or guides around San Jose. I like Saltwater fishing, but looking for something a little different. Is Costa Rica far enough south for Peacock Bass?

You can fish for trout and tilapia in many places close to SJ. Just google something like "pescar trucha tiliapia". Cartago has several places. There are plenty of lakes and rivers. BTW... Make sure if the river is way up the hill. You don't want to fish from the shit water.

Man, that lake Arenal looks tempting. Only 80 miles from SJO. I am a bass fisherman here in Florida and I need to check out this place. Thanks.
