We will be staying in SJ for a couple of days than commutting to Jaco for the remainder fothe trip (2 weeks in all). My qyestion for now, where is the best place to play poker in Jaco? And will I be able to find regular games there durign my 2 week stay there?

Any information is greatly appreciated, regarding this question, or any aspect of my 2 week vacation in CR.

As one who has lived here in the SJ area for the last almost 8 years,I think that I am qualified to give my opinion. Also a great part of my life is spent with the chicas and the poker tables. My opinion is that if these are your priorities, reverse your time schedules to spend a couple of days in Jaco and the rest of your time in the SJ area. In my opinion the beach(and fishing) is the only reason to spend the bulk of your time there.

VB is right. They do have a nightly game at the Cocal and Amapola is trying to get the poker room going again. But it is way easier to find a game in San Jose.

What is the current fecal matter count in the Jaco beach water ? I was there last month and, along the shore, there was a few foot of 'yellow froth' formed from sewage water flowing into the ocean.

Where is it safe to enter the water ? Is there a website that tracks this stuff ?
