Right now, the best action seems to be down South, Osa Peninsula, Zancudo, Drake Bay, Golfito, etc, and into Panama. Several boats down there have reported picking up decent numbers of Blue & Striped Marlin, with 2 Black Marlin releases also being reported, both in the 300+ lb range. The sailfish bite is also starting to pick up. Typically, in December / January, the sailfish bite usually goes crazy down South. Some of the boats out of Jaco & Quepos have reported good numbers of Dorado (Mahi) and the Yellowfin Tuna have been chewin' also. Sailfish action in that area has been spotty. One crew out of Los Suenos picked up 3 wahoo last week during a 1/2 day trip. They were estimated at 90 lbs, 95 lbs, and 110 lbs. Another crew out of Quepos reported a 100 lb. Jack and 2 Roosters in the 85-90 lb range during a full day inshore. Up to the North, things have been hit or miss. Boats out of Tamarindo, Flamingo & Playa del Coco have had sporadic action, as the winds have been pretty stiff, keeping many of the boats tied up at the marina(s). When seas have been calm enough to get out, the marlin / sailfish action is almost non-existent. One here, one there, but nothing noteworthy. Many crews have opted for staying inshore and slow trolling live baits around structure, picking up some Roosters, Cubera Snappers and decent size Jacks, along with lots of pesky needlefish. Hope this helps! MG ![]() |

That report would be accurate to this moment as well.... except for even less action fishing in the northern Pacific. Anoter cool front is coming through and the winds are rediculous. |

Winds are still blowin' like a b*tch up to the North. MG |
