I am going to be in CR in october. I have one sunday there. I was hoping to travel and do side trips in the day and party at night in san jose. Are the little side trip tour companies open on sundays?

Are there any that you guys recommend?

I will be there from oct 16th on, for a week, I will have one sunday oct. 17.

Thanks in advance,
Monik

I suggest you contact some of them directly by phone or e-mail before your trip. I believe most run tours on Sundays though their offices might be closed. If you are getting in the night before you might not have time to book it after you arrive.

Good tours are almost to numerous to mention. Rio Tropicales is a good one for white water rafting. Britt's Coffee farm has a variety of tours that you can book through their website along with trips to the Butterfly Farm and the Aerial Tram. Canopy Tours is the leader in well ... rain forest canopy tours. The "All in One" tour is another popular one that hits Poas Volcano, a coffee farm, La Paz Waterfall Gardens and a Sarapiqui Boat trip before returning to SJ through Braulio Carillo NP. These tours can be booked through a variety of agents and websites, but are all basically the same tours at the same rates. You could also try booking through your hotels tour desk before you arrive.

Re: Sunday, one more possible tip is to save your Volcano visits for a weekday as Sundays are a popular day for the local Tico's to visit their national parks and they become even more crowded than usual (places that cater almost exclusively to vacationing foreign visitors have equal crowds spread throughout the week). Though crowds should not really be a problem at any time until the high season begins in another couple of months.
