Stuff seven big guys in the normal van you can rent such as like the one Earl has and everyone is miserable and crammed to hell and no room for women or booze. We need a school bus and a driver for a day road trip. I have had more fun than can be remembered on bachelor party road trips.
Anyone have an idea as to whom to contact?

I am thinking about from the Gulch to Jaco and the Beatle Bar. How much road time would it be?

Describe your best idea of a road trip.

Those are known as Chiva Buses and I believe they are pretty specific to Colombia and to a slightly lesser extent Ecuador. I also believe they have them in NYC of all places (due to the rising numbers of Colombianos there). Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz even arrived in a Chiva for the New York premiere of “Charlie’s Angels.” However, I haven't heard of anything like that in CR, though I agree it might a really good idea for there even though it is really non-native. I'm sure you could find lots of tourists (and maybe even some of the local Ticos and immigrant Colombianos) who would be into it for a night of party fun if not also a means to get from one destination to the next.

I know Lionking had looked into the bus business in CR and I consider him to be our resident school bus/transportation industry expert, but maybe this is an angle he hadn't considered. OTOH, if this were really viable I'd think Interbus or Grayline would have already offered it since they already have most of the higher end group transport business locked up.
