I heard there are some nice courses down in CR. Anyone know of any in the san jose area? If anyone can advise on which are best courses and the green fees will be much appreciated. thanks. |

1) Valle Del Sol very close to San Jose, plan to play there during my stay 8/20-8/27. 2) Cariari CC; my understanding is that is it very nice but might take more to get a tee time. Google it and you will get more but those seem to be out of the immediate SJ area. Nice to see someone else who plays here, just hope that you are worse than me. ![]() Intel Design Booked at La Amistad... See ya'll there! |

It's around $100 to rent clubs and play. Caddies go for $10 a round. If you can bring your clubs and attain a CR liscense you can play for around $45.. Cujo |

thanks. Chico, I'm not sure what a "golf license" is. I thought you were referring to a CR driver's license. You do not need to be a resident of CR to obtain a driver's license. You can get that at the MOPT building in SJO. MG ![]() |

yea golf license didnt make much sense..i guess i was thinking somesort of golf ID like the way they have it here in the states. With the ID you receive discounted green fees as oppose to tourist rates. But thanks for the info. btw, is there a written and road test for the driver's license? or is it just a fee you pay. Judging by the way ppl drive in CR i doubt there is a road test. ![]() |

![]() There's no written or road test. But you must have a medical exam prior to getting your driver's license. But there's a ton of local "doctors" around the MOPT area who will give you a half-ass exam and issue you the certificate. It used to be around 6,000 colones for the medical exam. MG |

Drivers licenses are no longer issued at MOPT bulding in San Jose. You now have to go to the Consejo building in La Uruca. They now also require you either have a ducment showing your blood type or pay the Dr. who does your physical an additional fee to type your blood. |
