Preakness 2009 Selections: Mind that Bird wins the Derby, you know what I watched the race 10 times and I keep thinking I'm dreaming and that someone else is going to win. Did Mind that bird show that he is a super horse in the making or simply a horse that handled the quicksand of the track as everyone else was stuck in reverse and he ran by them like he was standing still and throwing up his best Beyer number by over 40 points. I'm sorry I can't believe that he is a super horse, simply someone where everything broke just right, and the track being a sloppy sealed mess didn't help. For the 1st time in if not history, but many years when did you ever see the jockey of the winning derby horse get off the horse, to ride another, mind you I don't ever remember the horse being a super filly like this one. Rachael Alexander could be the best of the lot or perhaps she has not been in a duel against the boys so we don't know how she will react coming back on two weeks rest but I will say this her #'s keep getting better and better. Weather factor looms again with thunderstorms forecast, I hope we get a dry track to gauge the true test of what this year's Triple Crown is all about. With that said this is a tough one as On paper you can't bet against this Horse, but there is no Value in betting her either. The horse I love is "Big Drama" he was on my derby top 5 list but did not run, now he runs well rested, he has won both his starts at two turns has a 5 race winning streak and put up Beyer numbers equal to Rachel in his last race even if it was 7 furlongs at 10-1 that's Value. Only 2 horses in the last 25 years have won the Preakness, not competing in the derby, which makes both of my horses Rachel & Drama a tough bet. All I can say, is Favorites win the Preakness, and Rachel will be the favorite. Drama is the Value and the rest are also rans in my opinion. So good luck! $20.00 Exacta Box 1-13 (Rachel Alexander) & Big Drama Cost =$40.00 $4.00 Trifecta Key 1, 13 with 1,13, With 2,3,7,9 Cost = $32.00 $2.00 Superfecta Key 1,13 with 1,13,With 2,3,7,9 with 2,3,7,9 Cost $48.00 Total Outlay $120.00 GOOD LUCK! |

yo Capper... I Liked your selections just not your betting stragedy as I could not put all my ducks on Drama to finish second, so I keyed your #13 with Horses 1st and 2nd with your other 5 horses in Exactas, Triples, and Superfectas. Hit the Exacta, Trifecta and the winner! Thanks Mi Amigo I owe you a bottle of Tanguery Ten! |

My 13 – 2 box and win on #13 just won!!!! I am a big fan of Mr. Jess Jackson; he is a true class act! He proved himself in the Sonoma County wine biz, now he will build a super stable with that filly. Time to pull out a good bottle of KJ for dinner! ![]() ![]() ![]() Mendo |
