I have Magicjack and am thrilled with it. Does everything it says. Clear as a bell.
Now I'd like to use it for travel.
What is the most compact and lightest cordless handset to use for travel?

GG,
I love my MagicJack. I've had mine almost a full year, and couldn't be happier. Matter of fact, I just renewed my plan for 5 more years for $59. Now I'm good until March, 2014. I don't know about the cordless handsets. I simply use a small, basic $10 Wal-Mart phone that I put in my bag, along with my laptop. Eventually I might pick up something different, but for now - it's fine. Enjoy your new toy!

Definitely get a separate phone for MJ. On my last trip, I hadn't bought a phone yet and thought I would just use the hotel phone so I didn't have to pack one. Bad idea... it's a real pain in the ass to switch the cord back and forth. One line will always be unavailable for incoming calls.

There's a small (cellular size) corded phone on Ebay. I think I may get it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0364349665

From my experience and "word on the street" MagicJack has real issues when you are running Vista. Fortunately I sold mine for what I had paid for it :D unfortunately I still have to pay Vonage monthly. :(

Nothing wrong with Vista. Just takes some tweaking and you are good to go.

I carry a wireless phone and it work perfectly. In room 312 I will make calls from the balcony while the base was by the front door. No problems.
