Fishing Report? Here ya go:
South (Osa, Golfito, Zancudo) - Sailfish are chewin', with an occasional blue and/or striped marlin thrown in the mix. A large concentration of billfish have now moved up from Panama, and anglers are getting several shots per day at sails and marlin.
Central (Quepos, Jaco, Herradura) - Marlin are few and far between. A few sails have been reported, but latest reports show that the numbers are still not there. Lots of Dorado (Mahi) and yellowfin tuna being caught by anglers out of Los Sueños. A few wahoo have also been brought to the boat(s). The sailfish bite should be turning red hot within the next few weeks.
North (Tamarindo, Flamingo, Papagayo) - Fishing's been slow. Lots of wind and rough seas has kept many of the sportfishermen at the docks. Some reports of Dorado (Mahi) and yellowfin tuna being caught out of Flamingo. Sailfish are out there (around the 22 miles West) free-jumping, but they're not chewing. Bottom fishing has been very good up around the Papagayo / 4-Seasons area. Some big roosterfish and cubera snappers have been reported, with lots of jacks and needlefish as by-catch.
