Post subject: | Driving Range |
Sorry if this has been answered before but I am a newbie. Since it is such a beautiful day and my golf game is lacking from all the rain, I was wondering where a good place to hit up a Driving Range. I am looking for anything in the San Jose valley. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me. Jared |

A buddy of mine played there and liked it. I think it's about 30 minutes outside of SJ. http://www.vallesol.com/course.htm |

there is a range at the marriott hotel, just down from the airport. valley del sol does have a driving range, but i would always call before going to anyplace as they may have it closed due to rain. the other clubs in cr are private and thus the ranges are private. wish more guys from this site were serious golfers. i specifically travel to cr 6 times a year alone to attend ranking tournaments and both the match and medal play country amateurs. will be there in a week attempting to qualify for one of the 4 open spots available for the professional canadian tour event being held there in early december--the costa rica open. |

I play everytime I go. I'm not qualifying for anything eventhough I carried a scratch handicap a few years. I'm realistically about a 4 now. The best thing to do in CR is to get a drivers liscence so you get the local rates at the course. ![]() ![]() Cujo |

I'm heading down in April for the 3rd time. A couple of newbies in our group are asking about golf. I know, I know, why go all the way down there and stay in the gulch to go golfing. I've seen a couple of resort/country culb type places for about $60 USD. Are there any other places near San Jose that are cheeper than that? |

Wallbanger, I love golf and 2 years ago (Nov 2006) I went to SJ and tried to go to the Caliari Club near the airport but you have to be staying at the hotel there if you want to play. There is supposed to be a 9 hole course somewhere and hotel Don Carlos had a deal to take you there, give you a set of clubs to use and bring you back all for $100. I was able to book a tee time at Valle de Sol in Santa Ana. The green fees was $65 and club rental was $30. The taxi cost $14 each way. It is very pretty out there and the course slope rating is around 120 /white tees i think. I played alone. If you can go in a foursome and have your clubs it may be worth while to do it. |
