I'm looking for some advice on day trips out of SJ. I've been to Arenal, Jaco and Manuel Antonio. I'm looking for interesting towns that are closer.

I've heard Heredia and Sarchi are interesting places to wander. I've heard the Britt tour is cool and others have said it was lame. Any Ideas?

Diablito

Try a zip-line or atv tour. If you haven't tried either, they're a lot of fun. Just wear shitty clothing, because you'll get real dirty, especially on the ATV's! And if nothing else, you can always try fishing or golfing for a day!

You could make a trip to Puriscal and eat some chicharones. Or visit Cartago, you can combine it with a visit to the Irazu or to the Orosi valley.

I would do the bungee jumping day trip if I return.

The idea of bungee jumping feaks me out. I used to skydive and always felt comfortable having a reserve chute. But bungee jumping companies are operated by guys who don't want real jobs. And those big rubber bands don't come with reserve rubber bands.
