Okay, I had to kiss a little ass, but I believe...90% sure...got my ticket anyway, that I can make the anniversary party on 26 Sep. Fly in late the evening of the 25th, breakfast at the rail, party Sunday, early breakfast at the rail, morning session at ZB Monday, head to Arenal Monday afternoon, tourist stuff Tuesday, fresh water fishing on the lake Wednesday, more tourist stuff Thursday, head back to SJO Friday, party till I leave Sunday morning. Now, am I going to get soaking wet (rain that is) up in Arenal at the end of September, or will the weather be pretty nice...any ideas? Or should I skip Arenal in September and go to Jaco, and Arenal at the end of December when my other trip is scheduled?
Thanks,
Michael

I haven't been to CR in September but from what I know of the weather I think you would be better advised to try Arenal at the end of December to increase your odds of actually seeing the volcano which gets clouded over most of the year. Another factor to consider in scheduling your trips is that the Christmas period is not exactly the best time to go to CR for chica hunting as many return home to visit with their families at that time of year. Of course, it's all relative. PErsonally, I wouldn't pass up any opportunity to visit CR even if it comes at a "bad" time of the year as it will still beat sitting at home in the US.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like I'll go ahead and stay three nights in Jaco at the end of September (Tuesday till Friday morning).
I agree that a bad day in Costa Rica is better than sitting at home, at least I'll have several MPs to pick from if nothing else.

Took my son down last September for his maiden voyage to CR. Stayed in Jaco--weather nice in am most days-took my son on cocodrillo tour and fishing during the day...then the Beatle and Central at nite. Lot of the same professional sex workers as Dec, Jan, Feb, and March, however I did run across some new Dominicanas and my son preferred the younger Ticas. Afternoons, it would be cloudy to misty, with occasional showers. Temperatures seemed a little cooler than high season-definately not much beach time, but we really weren't there for that anyway. All in all, the weather was not bad for rainy season, especially when you consider that it rained for two weeks straight in Mich. when I got back. Maybe I'll see you at the BB, a lot of the Columbianas and Dominicanas know Diablo.
DR had plenty of chicas, but not the frenzy of high season, actually quite pleasant. Bueno suerte
