Hello, has anyone heard of or been in the Panama Free Trade Zone close to the border with Cossta Rica.I am not sure if it some sort of shopping complex.Apparently cameras and electronics are dirt cheap.Also how would you get there.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks. |

Dieter540, I believe you are talking about the Border Zone. The free Zone is not a complex or mall, it's like a flea market, I mean plenty of street stands and of course you will find warehouses and stores. I was there recently and prices are not that bad, however I don't think I would buy cameras and things like that over there since there is no way to make effective any kind of guarantee on any of the items. I rater go to Deposito Libre de Golfito where every shop you go will provide guarantee in down town. Now to go to Golfito you need to have a costarican ID. If you have a Tico freind that can help you can make an excursion down there for about $25 and go to both locations (Golfito and Border) for the same price. Let me know if you need more help Mente |
