As time goes on,Liberia airport has become more of a player in CR tourism.Delta has flights going in 6 times a day.Does anyone on the board have a take on the possibility of working girls heading to that area, and if it may become "Gringo Gulch"#2?...There are beautiful beaches near that area and it is not a bad ride to Arenal...CRD

I live in Guanacaste. Tourism in this area has exploded over the last year. There are a few girls around but nowhere near what you find in San Jose or Jaco.

spec,
19 posts in 1 day (and counting) and many of them are on old, out-dated threads.
You can also edit your posts instead of posting one right after the other on the same thread.
I suggest you read more and post less until you have something of value to add.

I also suggest you read the board rules:

Six flights a day for Delta sound like too much and it is.
According to Delta website and Travelocity, Delta has one or two a day in and other airlines have the others.

But I agree it is becoming an active destination.

Since I own some properties in that area, I fly into Liberia several times per year. And I concur that it has become a much more popular airport for tourism, but IMHO, not a whole lot more.

The 4-Seasons resort is only about 20 minutes from the Liberia airport, and they have pumped a lot of $$$ into that area, and it is an extremely up-scale resort area. I think the rooms start around $400.-500. a night.

As far as Liberia, Playa del Coco, Sardinal, etc..... not much happening in the mongering arena. Like anywhere in the world, you can always find something, but the pickins' are slim in that area. The real estate market is going crazy in the NW Guanacaste area, so you can usually find a gringa or two in a local bar, and maybe a tica or two, but you'll have to work it. I don't see it becoming a "Gringo Gulch # 2". But YMMV.

Mucho Gusto
