Was planning on heading to Jaco tomorrow but at the last minute I've decided I want to try something different and I thought I would head out to Puerto Viejo which I guess is south of Limon. Doing this because I want to do some nature type things. Was wondering whether there is any type of monger action at all there and if so could use a couple tips. Thx.

Don't know about mongering there but on a related note Today, Yahoo! had Tamarindo Beach listed as the 14th "Sexiest Beach" in the world. Of course Tamarindo is on the Pacific side anyway.

I couldn't find any when I was on the Carribean side. You may have to go up to Limon.....I've heard there is action there.

I've never found any real "scene" there, although a few of the dealers walking around have offered to hook me up with "anything I need", and gave a short list which included "women". Chances are 99% they will be black though, if that's your thing.

My best times in Costa Rica were in Puerto Viejo. The beaches south of there are best in Costa Rica...and there was always plenty of party around. Not an organized monger scene, but if you have a little game, you should be able to hook up there no problem. They speak more English over there than they do anywhere else in Costa Rica. I say...go for it.

I love all of the little beach towns to the south of Limon. But, Limon gives me the creeps even in daylight.
