Not being a gambler I really have no opinion pro or con on the ethics of betting on HS football games. I suppose an argument, with some good points on each side, could be made either way.

What I found hilarious about the whole story was this quote:

" Dallas FBI supervisory special agent Lori Bailey said Wednesday she thinks wagers placed with offshore betting services are illegal."

She is the supervisory agent and does not know that wagers placed with an OSG are illegal? Guess she does not read any news papers

ID, I found that comment hilarious as well. She has held that position in D for more than 10 yrs.

Should be a fun game to watch, I have my tickets in hand and will be great to watch two great programs compete.

Met my fair share of Southlake Carrol guys (especially last year) and their attitudes FAR EXCEDED their athletic abilities which were usually pretty darn incredible.
It's so terrible some guys will place money on the game but no problem letting the players run amock in thier schools/towns and local pharmacies!!
Well, we do live in the land of hypocracy don't we.... The FBI has to cut off the offshore gambling but the drug/alchol/steroid use of these folks is nothing to worry with

I lived in Houston for several years so i am not surprised about someone wanting to wager on a hs football game.If you have never lived in Texas i do not think that you ever imagine the attetion given to hs football. Those K*ds are great players. The other 2 states with the same amount of great players would be Cal. and Florida.

Great game last night played in the House Doak Walker built (SMU campus) pitted Northwest Miami #2 in the nation vs. Southlake Carroll #1.

With a near capacity crowd of 31,896 and ESPN broadcasting on the U channel, this was amateur sports at it's best. Carroll came into the game with a 49 game win streak and Nw Miami defending 6A champs with a reported 8 Div 1 prospects.

After an offensive 1st half 21-21, the game turned to defense and untimely turnovers the second half and Nw Miami prevailed 29-21. Nw Miami receiver Tommy Streecher is a bona fide blue chipper I believe headed to "The U" put on a show for Michael and Deion, qb Jacoby Harris another Div 1 prospect has a great arm, and a defensive line that avg. 270# shut down Tre Newton (Nates son).

Best halftime performance went to Miami Nw as well, had to love their motto," You gotta have a lotta soul to back the blue and gold"

Harris has made an oral commitment to the "U" as have 16 other blue chip South Florida HS athletes. While they are only oral commitment and non binding Randy Shannon is showing what a great recruiter he is in the inner city south Florida schools.
