Gentlemen;
Perhaps one/some of you can provide some insight into my experience at the Horseshoe Casino.
When my two wingmen and I walked in on a Saturday afternoon, there were a couple pretty girls who held open the door for us. No big deal- they worked for the Casino. No pros walking the floors like the HDR. Not much action at all. The cocktail waitress asked if she could sit with me..after she brought me a beer (featuring ice). Attractive. I played for a half hour or so (my pals left to hit ZB again) before returing to HDR to check on another pal.
Since I had on shorts I changed into pants, switched shirts, and me and the other guy went back to the Horseshoe. A different girl approached and offered a drink. Not that I don't love ice in my beer, but I went with a Jack and Coke. When she brought it back she made small talk (in English) about how she wanted to party that night. After about ten minutes she said she would be back, but I had a flight to catch and needed to track down the other two (who should be returinig from ZB). So I just split and returned to the DR.
My question is whether these girls are pros outside the casino, just a tease, or what. The Horseshoe did not have a lot of action, in fact is was pretty empty. But they had low minimums, no hassle and a couple of girls (who apparently worked there) that were good looking. Anyhow, I liked the gambing there (I won) so I wouldn't mind heading back for a little black jack my next visit. While I want to try my hand at the Morozan, those girls at the Horseshoe........

I like the Horseshoe. It's close to HDR and they have good looking cocktail waitresses. I've played Texas Hold'em Poker as well as tute, 21 and other games. I don't think they have Go Fish, Old Maid or War.

On to your question. One of my buddies took a cocktail waitress back to his room from the Horseshoe. He claims it was gratis but I think he is full of shit. Wouldn't be surprised if he payed a cien. But the girl was hot!

Depending on the currency you prefer $5 or $4,000 colones. And the tables (unlike HDR) not crowded. Ended up there cause the only tables open at HDR were $25/minimum. I do not think WAR is offered at any legitimate casinos....but I have been wrong before.

Didn't cousin Eddie from National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation take Clark to a casino where they play War? That was pretty funny.

I think she was getting off work. If not, she got fired because they were gone for a while.

I need to go return some videotapes :(

Cool. Will have to see about that next trip. Considering switching from Morozan to HDR; HDR emailed and said they have 2 types of rooms available. I like the action downstairs there and the proximity to Horseshoe- I don't like the tables.

Thank you for the compliment, glad you had fun!!! All of our hostesses are very beautiful and friendly. They are not "pros". What they do in their personal time is their business. Some of them do have boy-friends that were/are customers most are single. We are hiring more BEAUTIFUL english speaking hostess weekly and soon we will have many working each shift. The hostesses are different then the girls that work on t 2nd floor niteclub/casino!!!! :wink:

Lubeman, from this and other posts on this board it appears your casino is moving in a new and better direction. I have preferred your casino over the others and am a frequent visitor--I am there monthly. The only time I leave your casino for another is to move back to the DR to play and scout the chicas. If your entertainment in the future is more directly visible within the casino, I can't see needing to leave. The english speaking staff is a great addition, I speak a little spanish, but it is frustrating when you can't communicate, especially when you are gambling. I have always liked a stay and play option, not having to move between hotels and casino with money and when tired, I like to quickly retire. Not sure your space would ever allow for that, possibly in future. Last point, you should probably make it clear to staff or members of this board or who visit your casino, what gals are off limits, if any. I could see conflicts for both parties, we are guys, so we will ask and tempt even the most committed of your staff, better if you remove some of the temptation by letting us know ahead of time.

Thank you for your loyalty. I promise you, you will be very happy with the upcoming changes. We are curently in negotiations trying to buy an office building directly across the street (across from our left side). If we end up with the building we will be adding approx 18 private, 1st class VIP suites with plasmas, hot tubs etc. These rooms can be comped or paid for. We understand having rooms is very important. We will hopefully directly across the street.

Gentlemen;
My searching skills are poor (at least on this board) and I have a severe case of jet lag after not sleeping on a red-eye, but can anyone give me an update on this casino? I hope the renovations are done by Super Bowl weekend, and any info you all got would be most appreciatd. PR, you stopped in recently?

As of the weekend before new years, all action was upstairs for the time being nad the main floor was being gutted. Should be really nice when its all said and done, but as far as super bowl, knowing how things work in CR, it will NOT be done...but I'm hoping I'm wrong.
