What can one do in Escazu? From what I read on this board there's some good restaurants? Are there any sites to go to?

You can go to the mall or to Hooters. :) Yes Escazu has some of the best restaurants around (not Hooters).

Can anyone tell me the name of the place in Centro Paco that has great food and used to be popular with CRTs, went there a couple times with Handy back in the good ol' days.

Here's a site, not sure if there's a restaurant list nor is it the easiest to navigate but has some great info- http://newsletter.escazunews.com/index.php?pr=Home_Page

Sounds like either Inka Grill or Tre Fratell

If you're there on a Sat. morn, check out the public market just south of the church.

PS: There's a great little place for breakfast just behind the POPS called
cafe Dolce.

I went to Escazu to do some stuff. My take is Escazu isn't that friendly towards someone without a car. It's hard to get around. I saw a lot of stores and some restaurants.

Not all that hard. If you are not familiar with the bus routes just flag down a taxi. Most Ticos get around that way and have no need for a car.

Are taxis that abundant in Escazu?

Taxis are everywhere and the bus runs all along the main road.

Some great restaurants with views overlooking the whole valley are Tiquicia and La Monastere. Definitely worth checking out at least one of them when you're in this neck of the woods.
