Heading that way on my next trip. Visiting a friend. Any one have mid range ($45-85 per night) hotel recomendation in the area. (playa del coco or el coco). Also, how bad is a ride on interbus there? I may fly into Liberia on one of the domestic airlines but I seriously hate flying. I have read it is about a 5 hour trip by ground transport. Anyone have any info to share, best way to get there? Thanks in advance for any reply!

I drove there from Tamarindo one morning to take a boat out to Witches Rock and go surfing.

You may want to consider flying to Tamarindo and renting a car or taking Interbus, it's about a 2 hour drive to Playa de Coco and seems like a pretty nice little fishing town.

Hope that helps!

Go to the Papa Gaya restaurant near the Banana Bar coming into town it will be on your left for some of the freshest and best fish you will ever eat. H.

Yes, the ride is about 5 hours. Not so bad if you take the first class bus. The flight takes about 20 minutes, then about a $60 cab fare.

After a little looking I think I am going to do the interbus. $40 door to door. 5 hours is the estimated time. I hate flighing so the road trip should prove nice and scenic. Thanks for the advice.
