I heard there is a relatively new Golds gym but I do not know where in San Jose. Any others?

Try the club at Hotel Ty Coroboci across town near Fogo Brasil. They have lots of machines, weights, olympic pool, sauna, jacuzzi, etc.

There is a gym in the Mall de San Pedro. It is not that bad but it is somewhat small and limited. They have daily, weekly and monthly rates.
