Yesteday, at the Casino Colonial, a Gringo ex-pat that I have seen many times before playing Tute,hit a royal straight flush. The bonus on this hand was 11,700,000 colones.He had also bet 20,000 colones on the hand so he won an additional 1000 times that bet or another 2,000,000 colones. That all adds up to around $27,000. Not bad for a couple of minutes.

wow ...at first i guessed it was at the delray...but they would of said he cheated or they had changed the game to rummy in the middle of the hand...i am happy he won..surprized he hit it there as (what i see ) not many people play that game there ...as the delray has at least one full table going about 20 hours a day and sometimes both tables are full....as us players know the bonus can be bet double the amount in san jose than you can bet in the us (2.00 vs 1.00 max ) some bad news on my last trip i put up 500(bonus) on every bet and i was losing (this at the delray) and the second hand i didnt put it up ..i got a full house ..she didnt open and i had 15,000 colonades up ..so for a full house i won 30.00 that's what sucks about that game ...you got to win "twice" ..by the way i am happy that the dealer opened for that guy......

If he bet 20,000 colones and the pay off was 1000 times the bet he won 20,000,000 plus the 11,700,000 for a total of 31,700,000 colones which is about $61,200.00. Sounds even better than $27,000 for that few minutes work.

I never play the game so I may have explained it wrong. His original bet was 10,000 colones and the extra bet for the bonus.When he saw his hand he got to bet another 20,000.When the dealer qualified ( a pair of 6's) he won another 2,000,000 col. bringing it up to 11,700,000 col. I thought the Casino Mgr told me it was 1000 times but I may be wrong.

Paco Loco;
I'm sure you're right. Been playing that game for 15 years and the best I ever got was 4 of a kind. Oh well.

If the odds are a billion to 1 and the payout is 1000-1, that seems like the house has a "small" advantage. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Since the actual payout was 100 to 1 :cry: it would make the house advantage "a bit in their favor" :lol: :lol: :lol:
