If spending a few days in Jaco and want something fun to do during the day time, might I recommend the 4 hour ATV tour offered by Ricaventura.
They are located just behind the Subway just past the bridge.
I took this tour and had the most non-monger fun of my whole trip.
We left about 10 in the morning with just 4 of us and the guide. We got out of town, went though some great little typical villages, then down to the river, made our way about 10km down the river, forging the river at several places. stopped to take pictures whenever we wanted and saw some great views. Next was up to the hills, around some great trails and down some very techical 4 wheel ATV driving. Some of the paths were not roads or even trails. One section was nothing more than a gully with deep washout ruts! Quite a challange! Stopped for a great lunch and a couple of cold beers at this great roadside place that seemed to come out of nowhere. (all included in price). Then roared off down the road and ended up on the beach, road down the beach for a while, in and out of surf and having a great time. Stopped for one last cool down beer and to compare notes with each other before heading back to town. This 4 hour tour ended up being about 6 1/2 hours long. Just the best time you can have for the money!! My buddy and I are still talking about what a great time this was! 4 hour tour is $90 us. they offer shorter and longer tours if interested.
