In June my wingman and I are planning a trip to Jaco to fish and play. We both have many trips to CR under our belts. We are both good fishermen. We have fished both coasts but never out of Jaco.

We will have a condo in Jaco within a long cast of the BB, but may bring a couple of favorite putas from SJO for a couple of days. We know all levels of the opportunities in SJO but want to experience the coastal offerings. We feel comfortable we can figure out the schools of pink snapper pretty well.

The fishing is another thing though. Since we may have chicas there is some chance we might need a boat for four, but from a fishing standpoint a smaller boat makes sense. From my experience a large boat is not needed, and is only a penis extension for the owner for witch I am not inclined to contribute. A larger boat does not catch larger fish. A better captain and better fishermen are the keys to success.

There is a great amount of experience among this community in getting the best value for the buck. I know from prior posts that many of you have fished Jaco. How about helping develop a list of captains/boats to contact for a value package of four or five days of green season offshore fun.

GG,

Wingnut and I went fishing out of Jaco last June. We got a 26' panga boat for $350/day. The price included bait and tackle, food and drinks. There are seats for 4 fishermen, but I would not recommend more than 3 as it can get crowded. Tony also offers a slightly larger 30' boat @ $500/day. This is a no frills type of fishing charter (no pier...you must wade out from the beach to the boat.)

One of our CRT brethren, Sluthog, put me in touch with a tico named Tony. (Tony's family owns a number of fishing boats operating out of Jaco.) He can be reached on his cell phone: 506-376-7511.

Our skipper, Lupe, had the disposition of a bent shit can, but knew where the fish were and worked hard. Since I was more than pleased with the results, I highly recommend him.

Rescheduled to Aug 3-11. I'm sure the pink snapper will be in abundance.
