Need some advice on where to gamble.
Its been a year since my last trip.
Two of my friends coming along this trip like to play blackjack.
What is the casino of choice these days?

If you like to play blackjack, play at The Colonial or the Paradisio. Some of the others have gone to continuous shuffle machines.

The Casino inside the Amon Plaza..Great card table and roulette wheel, slots ect..The staff is VERY friendly and most speak English...See Nixon, he runs the place and will go all out for you.

That one depends on whether you want hookers all around hustling the players for chips and money to play. The Del Rey would definitely be a no no. Colonial is a better room to me the few times Ive played there. I hear the Radison is good and not as many girls working the tables. I haven{t played but here the Fiesta by the airport is for the big boys for poker. The casino looks very nice but I can{t step up to the big boys table in poker yet.

I'll chip in about the Horseshoe Casino which I've visited many, many times during my previous trips. I like the gambling atomosphere there a lot better than the Colonial and the Del Ray. Like the Colonial, the Horseshoe doesn't have the non-gambling 'distractions' that the DR has. The dealers, pit bosses and waitresses appear to be friendlier, too. Just my two cents worth, which is about what I'm left with at the end of the night, regardless of which casino I visit

The best atmosphere and by far the best dealers for gambling are at the White House Casino in Escazu. I´ve enjoyed playing at the Fiesta and Horseshoe but they are a distant 2nd.
