Post subject:  Jaco and Surfing
I have surfed in Costa Rica for several years and have enjoyed some of the best surfing in my life. I am going to try Jaco for the first time next month. I have been told the surfing is not as good there as other beaches I have visited, but the availability of chicas seem to overwhelm that point to me.

Two quick questions. I will be staying at the Copa. Are there any good surf beaches close to th hotel? Would love to be able to walk. Can anyone recommend a good surf shop close to the Copa to rent a board for a week?

Thanks for any help. If anyone would like recommendations on other surf beaches I will be happy to share my limited experiences.

The surf may be smaller in Jaco during this time, but there is plenty of surf in the area. If there is some swell, in front of the Copa is a good spot. There is a nice right that works about 50 '100 yards south. Also, just south you have Playa Hermosa and Playa Esterillos. Have a good trip

Thanks TW! Glad to know I might not have to walk far.

Do you rent longboards or have anyone you would recommend? Also, two of the guys with me are new to the sport. Know any cute chicas that give lessons? They say they don't need lessons, but guarantee if I tell them they have an instructor in a bikini they will sign up.
