KC – last week I was in SJO talking to a friend who is looking into investing in property around Flamingo. He told me that there is a ‘godfather’ of sorts that is into all sort of stuff around there. I think my friend said he/they are Dutch. With all of the fisherman, yachters and divers that go there, I wouldn’t be surprised if grrls get shuffled in both as convenience for these types and to prey on the clueless.
That place in Tamarindo seems something like that, I don’t know how they get away with it. Then again, last week I was out there for three days and I don’t think I saw a cop anywhere between Flamingo and including Tamarindo.
I had a blast at Amberes last year dancing ect – there did seem to be too many amount of chicas for such a small town. I did pick up on one, and now that I think about it, it seemed a little strange (no, not $300, but it was cien). She was from Guapilis, which is east of San Jose and a long way from Flamingo. She was not the type to be going for a vacation but was there for the weekend, traveling with an older woman. There must be some incentive to for her/them to go all the way out there. If she needed money, why wouldn’t she have just gone to San Jose?
I plan on going back out later in March. My Spanish is getting better, I will try to talk to some of the chicas and see what it is. If it is phucked up, that would be too bad, because Amberes can be a fun place, and there’s not much else around. In the clubs in Tamarindo, all I saw were stuck up young surfer gringas, and what Ticas were around, were more into the younger surfer type dudes. Not much fun at all for me, in that respect.
