Please make sure you are booking through the website as Paraiso can not discount our CRT VIP's and pay travel agency or Hotel Tour booking commissions as well!

Thank you!

I'd recommend an ATV tour if you have never done one. It's AWESOME, especially with a group, you can race and try to outdo each other.

A couple of suggestions though:
1. don't wear any clothes that you're not prepared to throw away afterwards (if it rains, it gets muddy and the red clay doesn't come out of clothing)
2. wear boots and pants (no shorts, I burned my leg on the engine, don't ask  )
3. don't bring a date (it's not for the chicas, manly men only  )--the feminists would be all over me for that one
4. be careful, those things aren't toys, especially when riding up/down the side of a mountain (aka a cliff)

I Second the Paradiso trips. Just did it for the 3rd time last Teusday after Xmas. Gary has a new location. All private property with locked gates to keep the rift raft out. I was the only one he had but he did not cancel me out. I got a one on one tour. Gary was a superbike racer back in his day and he still does quad races. He taught me a whole lot and speaks perfect English. Booked on line and it was $80 for the day. As well as ATV's, there is a marmalade factory to see and the property owner is getting into trout farming. I wanted to go again at the end of my trip but he was booked solid.

The lunch was pretty good too. Choice of fish, steak, or chicken with rice and veggies and juice.

Paraiso is definately a class operation. I beleive however that they are no longer servicing the Jaco area anymore and Ricaventura ATV tours has taken over their Jaco market. Just thought I'd pass this along for anyone looking for the ATV tour operator in Jaco.

They have very nice machines, and the trips themselves are fantastic. Ask for "Joey" to be your guide. He has a great personality, speaks good english and is a lot of fun to tour with. (Don't forget to tip him...he's too nice of a guy to ask for it).

Their web site is http://www.ricaventura.com

Is Ricaventura ATV tour a CRT Sponsor? Is there any difference in experience if renting the ATV's in San Jose opposed to Jaco?

I know that if you rent in Jaco, the mountains are very close whereas taking the tour out of SJ, you have to drive to the mountains (guessing it may be 45-60 minutes out, no idea). We paid $60 for 3 hours in Jaco (almost 2 years ago). I don't remember the price out of SJ, but lunch is included out of SJ also.

Paraiso ATV Center still runs their services in Jaco.
6 years ago I set this operation up for my Brother Rick. Note that Jaco is a beach location the super heavy brothers better ride in my Central valley location Jaco only has small bikes.( Honda 250 CC) Small remember Jaco is not under my management but I know we are still the best in the business in Jaco. The 4 hour tour in Jaco is nice Part of this tour is on our private farm high above Jaco. My brother Rick and his assistant Ronald are both excellent and safe guides ( Hell I trained them myself). Also we have a tourist information center in Jaco for booking all your classy tours. More info www.paraisocostarica.com
Rick is not a CRT vip sponsor But tell him I kick his ass if he don’t give you the discount.

Do they only do Jaco, from the description. It sounds like they work just out of San Jose as well. BTW Is a full day worth it or half day is good enough.

Post subject:  ATV on July 28 or 29

Anyone up for a day ATV trip with Cary one of these two days. July28 or 29. I did this on my first trip back in September last year and it was by far the most fun thing I've done away from the gulch. Will be at the Castillo.

Went on the ATV tour today. Was great. Cary was a great host and because we were somewhat exerienced he appeared to challange us techincally with a good ride. His property is beautiful and I think he has this business as a hobby so you may want to take advantage before he decides it to much trouble.
