Post subject:  Horseshoe Casino Sports Book Closed

The sports book at the Horseshoe has been closed for a couple of weeks now. Anyone who has an existing account is being asked to contact them by phone now and in the future. Obviously this has something to do with the impending change in laws in the US.

I have been told (but unconfirmed)that the Casino has a buyer with an option to purchase the Casino. It seems to me that the closing of the Sports book on the premises is an attempt to remove some potential obstacles to the sale. The sale seems to also make sense since the current owners have spent little or no money on the upkeep of the place. (A standard joke there is that the chairs are horribly uncomfortable and have remained for 3 years)

The sale also seems to make sense after their recent closings due to Governmental intervention on some rinky-dink violations regarding the sale of liquor upstairs without chicas dancing as per their license. It appears someone in a high place is looking unkindly on the current ownership.

There is also the issue of the potential enforcement of an old unenforced law on the books that "requires" a Casino to have at least an 80 room hotel attached which doesn't seem feasible for the Horseshoe. Word has it that this law is the primary reason that the Colonial Casino put together a group to build the Sleep Inn with a flimsy overhang connecting the two establishments.

The sportsbook that was affiliated with the Horseshoe is now totally closed. They aren't even taking bets over the internet website.(www.betddd.com)If any of you have an account with money there,I suggest you call them immediately and get your account closed. Since this is a US based operation,I assume the closing has to do with the current legislation in the States. Also my sources are getting stronger about the Horseshoe being sold.
